I formed and led a digital art community for 9 years
From 2007 to 2016, I formed and led a digital arts community for Persian digital artists. It started as a website I designed myself to showcase the art of fellow artists, and it evolved into me finding myself organizing art contests with people like John Howe and Raphael Lacoste.
I then gave it my best to form a community for people who do 2D and 3D art. The highlight events of these 9 years are:
“Dragon’s Lair” art contest judged by John Howe
“Prince of Persia” fan art contest judged by Raphael Lacoste
“BlizzardFest” massive art challenge
“Dominance War V” as a competing team
Tribute to Hayao Miyazaki event with opening ceremony
More than 150 workshops in 2D, 3D and Art
Job finding system connecting artists and industry
Interviews with successful artists in notable companies/projects
Categorized forums for discussion and events
All for the love of good art and good people, and video games.
Tribute to Hayao Miyazaki event. It was an art contest but we turned it into something really good, with an open ceremony and live rock performance of golden Joe Hisayshi music!
"The Mythic Warlord" event judged by Adrian Smith
"Music Band" challenge judged by Andy Park
"Dragon's Lair" challenge judged by John Howe
A tribute to Scott Robertson, a Biomachines event. Scott was generous to offer signed artbooks for the winners!
There were 12 events planned in total with a goal of circulating the most important tech and art universities, such as:
Sharif University of Technology
Amirkabir University of Technology
Tehran University (tech/art)
University of Art (Honar)
ACM SIGGRAPH activities
For many years I've been an active member of ACM SIGGRAPH, and founded Tehran ACM SIGGRAPH Professional Chapter as a voluntary work to serve academia by designing and directing computer graphics related events.
I was also a SIGGRAPH 2016 off-site reviewer, given the amazing opportunity to review and evaluate Animation Festival entries.
